My ULTA 21 Day of Beauty Wish List Spring 2018

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 6.51.59 PM

As you might already know, ULTA’s Spring 21 Days of Beauty event begins Sunday March 18, 2018. Today I’m sharing some of the items I plan to purchase during the sale.  But first let’s go over some tips:

  1. Daily Beauty Steals go live every morning at 1 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). To view the daily beauty steals go here for ULTA’s online calendar or here for my previous post of all the deals.
  2. Platinum and Diamond members will get free shipping on the daily Beauty Steals plus any other items they add to their purchase. You must be signed in to see the discount reflected in cart.
  3. There is a limit of 2 per customer in regards to Beauty Steals.  In store this is enforced as 2 per product. Online it is enforced as 2 per shade.
  4. All daily Beauty Steals are while supplies last and things will sell out, especially for the newer brands to ULTA.  In stores stock is usually very limited.  If you really want a product, plan to be there when the store opens or stay up late to secure your online order.
  5. Every night starting on Saturday March 17, usually around 9 p.m. EDT I will post the next day’s deal on my Instagram account along with any available freebies or relevant tips. I do this as a reminder of what the next day’s deal will be so you can plan to either stay up or make it to the store in the morning. There’s always a chance a new freebie or offer will come up the next morning, but you have to decide what is more important, getting the item or getting a freebie.  I have some items I am not sure I want to purchase but could be swayed by an awesome freebie (you know how that goes). I will also post recommendations or my experience with the product and reference any swatches that I’ve done.  You can view swatches on my previous ULTA post here.

Here’s what I plan to purchase or am interested in purchasing if a good enough freebie comes along:

March 18: LORAC PRO Palette 3–I have this palette, love it and I have already hit pan on 6 shades. It will be on sale for $22 for platinum members and while I don’t want to stockpile backups especially of eyeshadow palettes I have been holding back on using this palette because I’m almost out of several shades. What I like about this palette is that it’s easy makeup.  You can basically use any of the shades together to create a look and it needs very little blending. This is something I can use on a morning when I’m in a hurry and don’t want to have to think about my eye look.

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 6.59.06 PM

March 21: PERSONA Identity Palette $16–This is one I’ve seen good things about in reviews and swatches and I’m generally curious about the brand. And since I love neutral palettes I think the price is right.

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 7.00.22 PM.png

March 23: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Singles $10–I’m specifically interested in the shade Spike.  Orange is my favorite color and Urban Decay is my favorite brand so I feel I need this in my collection. And my friend Nikki has been teasing me with this shade for about a year! (Seriously, check out her account, she does amazing pics and swatches).

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 7.01.20 PM

March 25: It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact with SPF 50+ $19–Not quite sure I will purchase this, but it is on my list.  My problem is with the shade range. Light is too dark most of the year (can only wear it for about 3 months in the summer) and the Fair is too light; I look practically ghostly if I try to wear it. I don’t have to go into further details on It Cosmetic’s poor shade range.  I am quite curious about this product though since my friend Chris calls it his holy grail foundation.

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 7.02.17 PM.png

March 30: Too Faced Melted Matte Long Wear Lipstick $10.50–I have several of these and really like them! And since my favorite color is orange I feel like Mrs. Roper needs to be mine. I love orange lipsticks. And this is another Nikki has been teasing me with.

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 7.03.16 PM

April 1: Dose of Colors Marvelous Mauves $16–This is another brand I am genuinely curious about but find their products to be expensive. 50% off might make me finally purchase from the brand.  And yes, I know their website has sales, but if I’m not sure about a brand or product I like to purchase from a place I know I won’t be given (much) of a hassle about returns.

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 7.04.16 PM

April 2: It Cosmetics Confidence in Your Glow Palette $16–I don’t need this palette. I have so many bronzer, blush and face palettes that I don’t know what to do with them. But this one speaks to me, especially in the shade natural glow.  I don’t know if I’m strong enough to resist this price.

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 7.05.10 PM

April 6: Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint $10–I have many of these and I really like them. The applicator is really good and has this unique shade. I purchased a few when they were on sale at Sephora and I regretted not getting the shade Homeslice. So if I haven’t overdone it by this point in the sale and maybe if there’s any freebies available I might grab this shade.

April 6: Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Flawless Wear Concealer $14–This is one of my favorite concealers and I currently only have the deluxe sample size in the shade Light-Medium.  This is a high coverage concealer but its not dry but rather creamy.

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 7.06.05 PM

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 6.54.27 PM

Hot Buys: Lipstick Queen Sinner Bold Lipstick $14–I’m thinking of getting the shade nude. But I don’t really need anymore nude lipsticks, do I? Don’t answer that. I find these lipsticks to be among the most comfortable ones I have.

Screen Shot 2018-03-16 at 6.56.05 PM

Patchology Spoiled Rotten At-Home Pampering Kit $17.50–I’m getting one of these just for the Pedi-Peel foot peel. They are the best I’ve tried in regards to foot peels (I’ve tried 3 different brands). I enjoy other Pathology products including the undereye masks and sheet masks.

So that’s what’s on my list for 21 Days of Beauty at ULTA. Let me know if you have any opinions on the products I’ve mentioned. I’d love to hear from you either here or on my corresponding Instagram post.

Sephora, Sephora Inside JCP, Swatches

NEW Sephora Favorites Good as NUDE Lip Sampler Review and Swatches

Today at Sephora inside J.C. Penney I purchased this new Sephora Favorites Good As Nude Lip Sampler set for $28.

The set contains 1 full size product and 5 deluxe sized samples.

The full size product is the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in the shade Wifey which is described as a delicate pinkish nude. This product by itself is $20 at Sephora.

Next up is the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick in the shade Whip which is described as a blushed beige.  The size is 0.07 oz which has a value of $6.72. This shade was included in the holiday lip set which is still available for $15.

Next up is the Nars Lipstick in the shade Orgasm which is described as a peachy pink with shimmer.  The size is 0.05 oz which has a value of $11.67.

Next up is the Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in the shade Exposed which is described as a rosy nude.  The size is 0.034 fl oz which has a value of $3.40.

Next up is the Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in the shade Sugar Sugar which is described as a peachy-pink nude with gold shimmer.  The size is 0.05 fl oz which has a value of $8.75.

And finally the BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor in the shade Bo$$ which is described as a dirty pink beige. The size is 0.06 fl oz which has a value of $10.

Here’s the swatches:

Unfortunately it was a rainy day here in Ohio and I was unable to use natural light for these swatches which is what I prefer.  It appears to me that these swatches are coming off just slightly more brown/yellow than they appear in real life.

The box claims this is a $72 value but I’m only calculating $60.54. I’m wondering if these samples are available elsewhere for a higher price and that is how they are calculating a higher value.  I searched the site and used the prices of the full size products to calculate values if minis were not available.  I still think its a good value for the contents and most of us know how often we use up lip products (rarely). I only had 2 shades of the items included (the Marc Jacobs and BareMinerals) so this was an easy choice for me to go for the set.  And who could pass up the cute glittery lip shaped box.

This set is only available in stores at J.C. Penney and is not available online or in Sephora stores.  There is a similar set available online which contains the same Tarte and Nars shades.

So what do you think of this set?  Is it on your list to purchase?  I’d love to hear from you either here or on my corresponding Instagram post.

Thanks for reading.

Beauty Must Haves, ULTA

Beauty Must Haves: Drugstore Foundation

It’s been years since I liked a drugstore foundation enough to repurchase it. In fact, I’m not sure I even liked the last drugstore foundation I repurchased. I was just ignorant to the fact that others existed and continuously bought the same one because it was safe bet and I didn’t want to waste my money on something I absolutely hated.

I have recently repurchased the L’Oreal Infallibable Pro-Matte 24 hour and Pro-Glow foundations and can confidently state that these are my favorite drugstore foundations.

I love to mix these 2 foundations together. By using the matte formula, I get coverage and longevity. By using the glow formula, I avoid the cake-y look and add some hydration.  With using 2 different shades I am able to customize the color I need and can use this combination year round.

My favorite way to apply these (and most foundations) is to use this metal palette I purchased from Make Up For Ever to mix the shades first (use code ALLURE2018 to get free shipping and choose a free sample 2 of which are deluxe lipsticks).  I used to use the back of my hand like so many YouTube tutorials show but I’d often forget to remove the remaining product from my hand and notice it later in the day. I also think that using the back of one’s hand the product starts to absorb and it changes the formula before you can get it on to your face.  I use this Estee Lauder paddle style foundation brush to apply the foundation to my face and then use a beautyblender to blend it in.

I always use a primer. One of my favorites is from Laura Geller. I always set my makeup with a powder.  One of my favorites is from Laura Mercier.  I’m sure I will feature these 2 products in an upcoming Beauty Must Haves post.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24 Hour Foundation

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation & Concealer

I recently purchased Infallible Pro-Glow Concealer to give it a try.  I like it well enough to use it but don’t find that it gives as much coverage as I would like from a concealer.

And since I always like to throw in a deal on the products I’m recommending, this week at ULTA if you purchase $15 of L’Oreal, Maybelline or NYX products you can get a $5 reward card. Reference above for a deal on the metal palette.

Beauty Must Haves

Beauty Must Haves: Lip Balm

Part of what I’d like to do on my blog is share some of my Beauty Must Haves. These will include products I have repurchased over and over again, ‘holy grail’ products that I highly recommend. (This will reference back to a no-buy/spending reduction post I have coming in the future on which I have not finished my thoughts. It’s coming soon.)

I plan to make this a series on my blog throughout the year as I share all of my beauty favorites. If you have followed me on Instagram, some of these might not come as a surprise, but I hope to be able to elaborate more on why I love a product or how I use it, and offer a good purchase opportunity to go along with the product.

As dry cold winter weather has taken over in my area, I noticed I’ve been reaching for this product a bit more.  My favorite lip balm:

It’s the Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment ($29).  From the website:

“This intensive lip treatment by Clinique helps repair the look of wrinkles on and around the lips. It provides antioxidant protection against the environment and boosts natural collagen production, too. Your natural moisture barrier is replenished so lips stay soft and hydrated.”

I have used this product for so many years and gone through countless tubes.  It’s expensive, but I find myself missing it when it’s gone.  I usually only use it at night before bed but use a bit more frequently in the winter (and lately because I’ve had a bit of a cold).  It lasts throughout the night.  I never have chapped lips when I’m using this product.  It’s not greasy feeling on the lips. My lips feel smoother and more plump after applying but it’s not tingly or uncomfortable. Instead it’s rather soothing.

This is the last tube that I have so I have been browsing to find a good deal on it.  I usually buy this when there is a GWP which is currently happening at Nordstrom.

Nordstrom always has free shipping on any purchase plus you can choose 3 free samples at checkout.

So what’s your favorite lip balm or lip treatment product?  Have you tried this one from Clinique?  I’d love to hear from you either here or on my corresponding Instagram post.

Thanks for reading.

My 2018 Beauty Resolution

Let’s start with a story.

After I finished my Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3, I was looking through my stash for a new toner to use.  Knowing that some dry and cold weather would be approaching, I chose this Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Instant Infusion Treatment Toner:

It says it protects and moisturizers so I thought this would be a perfect product to try during the winter.  I began using this as the only different step in my skincare routine.  Around the same time I started using a different foundation, but one that I’ve used for a couple of years that I like and have recommended (Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer ).  My skin started becoming irritated, breaking out with small bumps and just overall in poor condition.  I thought it must have been the foundation.  I remember hearing someone say it had made them breakout and I’ve always had that thought in my head despite never having that reaction myself.  I stopped using the foundation but I was still having irritation.  I thought about the skincare products that I was using and realized that the toner was the only new product.  I made a mental note to check the ingredients online for the toner because since this was a deluxe size from a kit, there were no ingredients on the packaging.  That mental note took me about 3 more days to finally remember that I need to look it up while still using the toner twice a day.

Here’s the ingredients list:

Screen Shot 2018-01-05 at 2.29.14 PM

I realized some time this past year that I’m sensitive to Vitamin C.  This toner has Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate) in it! So for probably over a month (look how much of it I used!) I was unknowingly putting Vitamin C on my skin twice a day because I hadn’t read the ingredients list and my skin suffered terribly for it.

My 2018 Beauty Resolution is:  Pay more attention to ingredients.  Read ingredient lists. Become more educated about ingredients.

As much as I love beauty products and makeup, I admit that I don’t know much about ingredients.  I’ve learned a bit from following certain bloggers or watching YouTube videos.  What I did to my skin proves to me that I need to pay more attention to what I’m putting on my skin especially since the Vitamin C causes me such issues. I see to be able to tolerate things that wash off (such as the GLAMGLOW FLASHMUD Brightening Treatment or the Sunday Riley C.E.O. C + E Micro-Dissolve Cleansing Oil) but not anything that stays on the skin.

In regards to the toner, it’s not a bad product.  In fact it’s highly rated on Sephora and I have a lot of other products I like from the Fresh brand.

After I figured out that the Vitamin C in the toner was my problem with my skin, I started using a new kit that I had purchased from Sephora during the VIB Rouge Sale:

I tried this in sample packets over the summer and really liked how it made my skin feel calmed and soothed so I thought it would be perfect for this situation.  This kit is no longer available but the DR. JART+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Cream is the star of the package here for me.  I press it into my face as the last step in my skincare routine at night.

December 2017 Empties: Reviews & Recommendations

Here’s the rest of the products I used up in December 2017.

  1. Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief — This is a product that I have repurchased many times over, from when my skin was oily and acne covered, to when I have dry patches around my chin and nose. I would typically use this as the last step of skincare right before I would go to bed, but I have actually used this over make during the day if my skin was very dry. I would just pat it on top of the dry patches and let it soak in, then apply a small dusting of powder to cover the shine.  Unfortunately, it looks like it has been replaced with the new 72-hour version of the Moisture Surge line; I can no longer find this version on Sephora or Ulta. I purchased a small travel size of that product and will try that a post a review when I’ve finished it.
  2. Candy Panda Whipped Body Scrub — I like these scrubs from Candy Panda. They are highly fragranced though, so if you are sensitive to fragrance I would skip them.  They have a good amount of grit and foam up a bit. A lot of their scents are Lush-inspired. Ro’s Lemonade was a combo of a citrusy lemon and Ro’s Argan Conditioner scent from Lush.  One negative is that these are hard to grab from the companies restocks which are held only once per month and shipping charges are high.
  3. Caudalie Beauty Elixir — This is a product I like but probably wouldn’t repurchase because their are cheaper alternatives I like better (Mario Badescu sprays to be exact). I purchased this one in a Sephora Favorites kit. I go through face sprays pretty quickly because I admittedly use too much of them.  I will drench my face after toning or acids. The bottle on this is glass and very luxurious feeling. While I love the smell of this, I will probably stick with purchasing a cheaper alternative unless I have a “treat yo self” moment.
  4. Klorane Dry Shampoo with oat milk — This is an adequate product but again not one that I would repurchase over a cheaper option.  If you’ve followed me on Instagram for a while you know that I love the Batiste dry shampoo which I can usually find for around $5.  This product is 4 times that price ($20) for the full size and I didn’t like it any better than the Batiste to justify the extra cost.
  5. Lush Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion — I got this in a kit from the 2016 holiday sale.  I used this as a hand cream before bed. It smells wonderful (lavender and chamomile?).  Its formulated for sensitive skins. It’s on the expensive side ($29.95 for 8.4 oz) but I think the natural ingredients justify the price.  However, I don’t think I would repurchase over my holy grail favorite (see number 6).
  6. Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter — This is my favorite body cream.  This was a limited edition scent from 2016 holiday.  My favorite scent was a limited edition scent from 2015 I think (Apple Crisp), but Josie Maran Cosmetics has brought back my second favorite scent Vanilla Pear.  I like this body butter because it sinks into the skin with very little effort and moisturizes the skin without feeling greasy.  I hate lotions or creams that I feel like I have to keep rubbing them in or that feel like your hand is sticking.  I usually buy these in kits from QVC to get the best value.  I have a huge stash of this product.
  7. Redken Wax Blast 10 — I bought this from Ulta because I needed another product to meet a minimum for a GWP and I remember liking this when I had shorter hair because it would add a piece-y look.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t as good as I remember, or my hair is too long to benefit from the product.  It wasn’t terrible so I did use it up, but I would not repurchase.
  8. Briogeo Roscaro Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray — I received this product in a Sephora Play box.  I found this to be too heavy for my hair.  I usually use products like this to detangle my hair after showering. I have very thin fine hair so I don’t have many tangles, but still try to be gentle by using a spray.  I also like to add some moisture to my hair since I don’t wash my hair everyday.  I wouldn’t purchase a full size of this.
  9. Lush Don’t Rain on My Parade Shower Gel — This year I discovered that I really like Lush shower gels and they’ve become my preferred product to wash my body.  I used to use Bath & Body Works shower gels because they were cheap (during a sale or coupon) and easily accessible.  I find that these small bottles from Lush actually last longer than the large B&BW bottles because these are so concentrated that you don’t have to use much of the product.  I also enjoy the scents from Lush more.  All B&BW scents were starting to become the same to me. It was also frustrating how often they would come out with new scents and then discontinue them.  On that note, this particular scent has been discontinued by Lush and I’m not too sad about that because I didn’t like it very much.  My favorites are Rose Jam and Twilight, which just happen to be holiday scents that are only available during certain times of the year. I have a small back stock of shower gels to use up before I purchase any more.

  1. Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter — Orange Creamsicle YUM! See review above (number 6).
  2. Butter London Nail File — This was adequate, but I’d like to invest in a glass file.  Any recommendations?
  3. Ulta Quick Touch Nail Polish Remover Pen — This isn’t currently available at ULTA but I bought 4 of them last month.  I really like this remover pen (my favorite was from Sephora but it was discontinued) because it’s small enough to make precise corrections.
  4. Dr. Jart+ Firming Solution Mask — This mask didn’t quite fit my face well. I had to stretch the part that goes behind the ears. Is that supposed to make my face feel firm?  I noticed no difference in firmness but my face was more moisturized.
  5. Dr. Brand PoreDermabrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator — I received this in a Sephora Play box. It’s very gritty but not harsh. I liked this! I have a full size to use up from a BeautyFix Box.
  6. WEN by Chaz Dean Love Eau De Parfum — this smells lovely! Just like the name would imply. I noticed the grapefruit scent the most in this.  Its a very unique blend of fragrances.  This will launch in February on QVC.
  7. Bite Beauty Luminious Creme Lipsticks — Unfortunately these have been discontinued.  I’m also disappointed that Bite didn’t bring out any of these double ended minis for this past 2016 Holiday season.  I enjoy have these mini lipsticks in my bag because they are small, take up less space and have more than one shade in them.  I’ve been on a mission to use up my more neutral shades of these duos.  I have mostly bold shades left.

  1. WEN By Chaz Dean Cleansing Conditioner — Fall Tuscan Pear is my favorite seasonal scent/formula.  I’ve used WEN Cleansing Conditioner for over 3 years now.  I’ve heard the horror stories about people losing their hair while using this product but I have the exact opposite experience. I have very fine thin hair, but with using WEN I am much happier with my hair’s appearance than when I’ve tried other things.  I usually purchase this at QVC and currently have a back stock.  I can elaborate more on my experience with WEN if there is interest.
  2. Bumble & Bumble B.b. Thickening Dryspun finish — This is a texturizing hair spray that I like but would most likely not repurchase a full size of.  First of all, its expensive.  $31! Which I believe is a price increase.  Secondly it seems to work better on clean hair.  And most of the time my hair is not freshly washed.  So it’s not a bad product and I will be ecstatic to get a smaller size in a kit or favorites set, but I won’t purchase another full size. Texturizing sprays are one of my favorite hair products.  Two I love: Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast and Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1.
  3. Glamglow GLOWSETTER Makeup Setting Spray — This product was a disappointment to me.  At first I thought I liked it. It does give your face a nice glow after spritzing following powder application, but it didn’t help with extending the length of time my makeup looked fresh.  In fact I think it made my makeup wear off more quickly.  I was also upset with how expensive it was and the packaging was peeling off.  I won’t repurchase.  What I want from a setting spray is for my makeup to last longer and look better: Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray does that for me.
  4. Caudalie Premier Cru The Elixir — I think this has been discontinued because I can’t find it at Sephora or Nordstrom.  I liked this product and used it as an oil.  It was thin and absorbed quickly.  I did not plan to purchase a full size. Oils I recommend: Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light  and Clinique Smart Treatment Oil.
  5. Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo — I’ve reviewed this product before on Instagram and my opinion is still the same.  It’s too heavily fragranced and it’s expensive when I like Batiste better. This Lush Scent was not an improvement.
  6. Tatcha Indigo Soothing Tripe Recovery Cream  — This was not a good product for me and I ended up using the rest of it on my body.  The number 1 problem I had with it was that it left me feeling sticky and I absolutely hate that.  I can’t speak for the effectiveness of the soothing because I was too irritated by the stickiness.  Product I love from Tatcha: The Silk Cream.
  7. L’Occitane Almond Delicious Hands — This is a great hand cream.  I love the scent and my hands feel nicely hydrating without feeling greasy or sticky.  I would consider purchasing another kit of these hand creams.
  8. Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Parfum — I liked this scent but I like more spicy scents.  The notes are listed as “deep black currant nectar, airy florals and musky blond wood”. I think I have more samples of this to use up, but I would consider purchasing in the future.

  1. WEN Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner — This is the best core scent/formula for my hair.  See number 1 above.  I can post more about WEN if there is interest.
  2. Batiste Dry Shampoo — This is my favorite dry shampoo. For the price you just can’t beat it. I usually find these are TJ Maxx or Marshall’s for around $5.  My method of using dry shampoo: shake the can really well and shake between sprays so you don’t get a blast of powder in one particular area.  Spray the roots after lifting up sections of your hair.  This is the most important step: Wait 5-10 minutes.  This give the product time to absorb oil and eliminates the white cast.  Then I brush through and finish the rest of my styling.  I like all of the scents they have except I would probably skip the cherry scent just based on personal preference. All scents seem to perform the same for me.
  3. WEN Fall Tuscan Pear Treatment Oil — This is a staple product for me however I would choose to purchase the Tea Tree version in the future even though I like this scent better.  I think the Tea Tree performs better. I use this as an overnight scalp treatment; the night before I plan to wash my hair I will place 4 droppers full on each quadrant of my scalp, massage that in and brush through.  I will sleep with this on my hair overnight and wash in the morning.
  4. Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo — It’s a no. Reviewed above.
  5. WEN Spring Honey Lilac Replenishing Treatment Mist — I’ve repurchased this product many times over and considering it one of my staples.  I use this as a detanlger and to refresh my hair if I’m not washing it.  It doesn’t weigh down my hair.  I love this scent too.  The Spring scents will be back on March 1.
  6. Rusk W8less 12-in-1 Miracle Treatment — This was too heavy for my hair and I repurchased the above WEN product.

  1. Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm — Cleansing Balms are not my preferred way to remove my makeup and this didn’t make me change my mind.  I felt like I had to struggle to get my mascara and eyeliner off.  I’ll stick to cleansing oils.  My favorite cleansing oil: Origins Clean Energy Gentle Cleansing Oil and yes, get the pump for it.
  2. Origins Dr. Andrew Weil Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Advanced Face Serum
  3. Candy Panda Whipped Body Scrub — Reviewed above.
  4. Lush Bubbly Shower Gel — See above review. I like this scent, just not enough to purchase on its own.
  5. Guerlain Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum — I liked this a lot.  The notes are “Carla Lavender from Provence, Sambac Jasmine from India, Album Sandalwood from Australia and Vanilla Tahitensis from Papua New Guinea”. It’s expensive so perhaps a future gift to myself.
  6. Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume — I love the scents I have tried from this brand. I prefer more unique spicy scents and this one fits those requirements.  It’s designed to be free of allergens.  I recommend trying out this $18 set if you are interested in the brands fragrances.
  7. Zoya Remove+ — My favorite nail polish remover.  I had to purchase a new big flipper because this one’s top broke off. I have the large refill bottles to reuse the flipper bottles.
  8. Bonus Samples: already have the Tarte products, I like them and I really enjoyed using the YSL Beauty Color Correctors but it’s not a step I do daily in my makeup routine.

So that’s what I used up in December. Let me know what some of your beauty empties were for 2017 and some of your favorite products. I hope you enjoyed this format.  I’m always looking for ways I can improve my content so please leave me feedback if you have any.  I’m still learning and working on improving the appearance of my blog. I also have some ideas for content for those of you on no-buys or trying to limit spending in the new year.
